Preconditioning cells ensure that the sterilization load reaches a homogeneous temperature and humidity, as required by ISO 11135:2014. This creates ideal prerequisite conditions for an effective sterilization process.
After sterilization with ethylene oxide (EO), residual gas remains inside the medical devices. These aeration cells are used for desorption and reduce EO residues to allowable levels. Continuous air circulation combined with a defined supply of fresh air ensures effective removal of residual gases and supports compliance with the limits specified in ISO EN 10993-7. The process is performed in accordance with EN 11135:2014.
